This is not the first time that Bentley cars are being made available to Indian customers. These exclusive and luxury British saloons and SUVs, and GT cars have been sold in the country through individual dealer networks for some time.

Starting July, however, that arrangement changes with the introduction of Bentley India by Škoda Auto Volkswagen India.
In an announcement made on July 08, the company said that the new entity – Bentley India- will exclusively import, distribute, and offer after-sales support to customers. VW veteran Abbey Thomas will be in charge of this new entity and the brand itself as Brand Director of Bentley India. The brand will have three new dealer partners in three key cities, namely Mumbai, Bengaluru, and New Delhi. The new showrooms in these cities will offer Bentley customers the complete brand experience with its hallmark combination of craftsmanship, performance, and, of course, luxury. The move is likely to improve operations, the availability of spares, and the quality of services for the marque’s clientele. In the long run, it is also likely to be a stepping stone for expanding the brand’s footprint beyond the currently announced three dealerships.
The announcement also means that Bentley is now the sixth marque to be introduced to India by Škoda Auto Volkswagen India, following Škoda, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, and Lamborghini. The introduction of Bentley as an official brand entity in India is yet another proof of the country’s growing market of ultra-high net worth individuals who are the brand’s traditional clientele.
