This Iconic 54-year-old Singapore Hotel Just Reopened as a Wellness Haven

After a multi-year renovation, Grand Hyatt Singapore reintroduces itself as a haven for sustainability, wellness and epicurean experiences.

The renovated hotel hosts 699 redesigned rooms and suites—all reflecting Singapore’s identity as the city of nature. Upon entering, a cascading waterfall framed by repurposed granite sets the tone for a tranquil stay. This conscious philosophy extends to the usage of wooden keycards and aluminium pens along with renewable energy lighting up each zone. As you explore the lobbies, every detail feels intentional—from the octagonal motifs honouring the hotel’s architectural heritage to the warm tones and walnut flooring.

Cross to the Terrace Wing and you’re in a garden sanctuary— think butterfly gardens and lawns hosting sunrise yoga. At the centre of the Terrace Wing, you will find the Damai spa, meaning “peace” in Malay. This spa has state-of the-art thermal hydrotherapy facilities. The Halo Steam Room, which infuses salt-rich steam into your system for respiratory and skin health, alone is worth a stay. The Dual Therapy Sauna, Air Lounge Hydro Pool, and the Mind Body Therapy Wall complete the wellness offerings.

Sustainability underpins each of the property’s seven distinctive dining experiences with practices such as zero-waste cooking and carbon tracking for individual dishes. Over 80 per cent of vegetables are sourced from local and regional farms, 55 per cent of seafood is certified sustainable, and kitchen waste is upcycled through the hotel’s closed-loop aquaponics system. Whether you’re looking for Mediterranean bites, Italian classics or hearty Southeast Asian buffets, there’s a dining spot for every palate. You will also find Singapore’s crowned halal buffet at StraitsKitchen.

To celebrate the reopening, the resort has curated two stay experiences—complete with exquisite food and total rejuvenation. The Grand Culinary Escape takes you on a culinary journey through the hotel, including lunch by the pool, afternoon teas, and a three-course Italian dinner at Le Pristine prepared by chef Sergio Herman.

The Grand Mindful Escape takes a more introspective turn. Begin with a complimentary wellness consultation at Damai followed by full access to its hydrotherapy facilities. Next, celebrate your progress with local cuisine at StraitsKitchen.

Whether it’s savouring bold flavours or seeking inner calm, the Grand Culinary Escape and Grand Mindful Escape each embody the hotel’s vision of inspiring and restorative hospitality.
