Madhya Pradesh just gained its newest luxury destination, The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace in Khajuraho, a carefully restored 350-year-old residence once home to Raja Hindupat of the Bundela Dynasty. The property sprawls across 76 acres on the Maniyagarh Hills, with a pristine lake and framed by sal and palash trees that are native to this part of the landscape. The views from the palace run across forested hills in every direction, while remaining within reach of the wilderness of Panna National Park & Tiger Reserve and a quick drive to the UNESCO World Heritage temples of Khajuraho.

The restoration preserved the palace's bones while upgrading everything guests actually use. Sixty-five rooms and suites range from Palace Suites to private pool villas. The Kohinoor Suite gives you two bedrooms and your own pool. Palace Rooms have traditional windows that frame the hills and lake without blocking the view. The original vaulted ceilings are still there, along with frescoes that survived centuries exposed to the elements.

Food and Relaxation at the Oberoi Rajgarh Palace

Dining at The Oberoi Rajgarh Palace is an experience shaped as much by its surroundings as by the food. Maanya brings the flavours of royal kitchens to the table, serving traditional recipes, open exclusively for dinner with indoor and terrace seating overlooking the hills. Neerangan, set beside the calm expanse of the lake, welcomes guests throughout the day with Indian and international dishes. Overlooking the courtyard, Amrava is a more intimate setting for curated cocktails and artisanal small plates, surrounded by the palace’s architectural lines and soft fountain as the backdrop. The estate also offers private dining across historic corners, allowing guests to tailor each meal within the heritage of the palace itself.

For private or celebratory moments, the palace also offers intimate venues, including banquet halls that accommodate up to 200 guests across 440 sq. m. of richly appointed indoor space, complemented by 518 sq. m. of landscaped outdoor areas, allowing each gathering to be tailored within the heritage and grandeur of the estate.
