As the Northern Hemisphere transitions into the depths of winter, two of the world's most coveted mountain retreats are preparing to welcome a new season of alpine devotees. Aman, a brand that has quietly redefined luxury hospitality over three decades, is orchestrating the opening of two mountain properties for the 2025 to 2026 season.

This December marks a particularly significant moment: Aman Rosa Alpina in Italy's Dolomites opens for its inaugural winter season on December 4, 2025, whilst shortly after, on December 11, Aman Le Mélézin returns to Courchevel 1850, offering unmatched ski-in, ski-out access to Les Trois Vallées.

Located in San Cassiano, Aman Rosa Alpina offers direct access to the Dolomiti Superski network, which spans 1,200 kilometres of terrain across the UNESCO-listed Dolomites. Guests reach the Piz Sorega lift using the hotel shuttle, supported by a Ski Butler service and a dedicated Ski Lounge for fittings and storage. Skiers can take on major circuits, including the Sella Ronda or the WWI Ski Tour. Non-skiers have access to guided snowshoeing, winter hikes and ice-climbing on marked routes.

Dining is streamlined across focused venues. The Grill serves regional Italian dishes. The Di Vino Room offers intimate tastings centred on Italian wine. New for winter is Enju, a Shabu Shabu restaurant that serves premium meats, vegetables, sashimi and a curated selection of Japanese sakes and teas. The addition widens culinary choice for longer stays and provides an alternative to traditional mountain menus.

Wellness includes three pools, hydrotherapy spaces and treatment rooms. The signature Dolomites Spa Journey is a four-and-a-half-hour programme that brings together personal training, dry brushing, massage and facial therapies. It functions as a recovery sequence after time on the slopes or outdoors. Accommodation follows a chalet-style layout with a focus on privacy while still remaining within walking distance of the village centre.

Set on the Bellecôte piste in Courchevel 1850, Aman Le Mélézin provides immediate entry into Les Trois Vallées, the world’s largest connected ski area with 600 kilometres of groomed trails. Guests have access to full ski services, including equipment preparation and on-slope support for every level. The First Tracks Experience gives early-morning access to the Combe de la Saulire descent before the public opening, followed by breakfast on the hotel terrace.

This season introduces Yakiniku on the Terrace, a Japanese-style open-fire concept where guests cook premium cuts at their table with signature sauces and sides. It complements existing dining, such as Les Prés de la Croix, a remote chalet reached by snowmobile at dusk. Guests can choose between a Savoyard-style meal or a private five-course menu and return to Courchevel by toboggan at night.

Winter activities extend beyond skiing. Guests can take guided snowshoeing walks, book dog-sledging with experienced mushers or use snowmobiles across designated alpine routes. Families have access to ice-skating, tobogganing and child-friendly winter sessions within Courchevel village. Indoors, the two-floor subterranean spa features a swimming pool, hydrotherapy areas and the Le Mélézin Spa Journey, which blends dry brushing, hot stone oil massage and hydrating facial treatments suited to post-ski recovery.
