As luxury real estate continues to evolve, a striking new trend is emerging at the intersection of hospitality and high-end living: the rise of branded real estate by hotel groups. In the past, Aman, too, jumped onto this bandwagon. And now, they are ready to wheel into a new future on new lands.
Recently, Aman announced its foray into Saudi Arabia’s luxury residences industry with the launch of Amansamar. Notably, this will be the brand’s pioneer residential project in the desert nation.
Introducing Amansamar, Saudi Arabia
Nestled on the cliffs of Wadi Safar near Riyadh, and within sight of UNESCO-listed At-Turaif, Amansamar draws influences from its surroundings. The name itself exemplifies this. While aman stands for peace in Sanskrit, samar is the Arabic ritual of storytelling, evoking the idea of gatherings under an acacia tree. That ethos is manifested architecturally through the vision of Jean-Michel Gathy, who draws from traditional Najdi influences and Aman’s minimalist design language to craft the residences. The sun-bleached stones, sands, and natural textures mirror the Wadi’s terrains, while metallic accents bring with them a touch of elegance.
Comprising an intimate 80‑suite Aman hotel alongside private villas (reportedly ranging from five to six bedrooms) and estates perched along cliffs, Amansamar offers a rare balance of seclusion and community. As expected, ownership comes with seamless access to Aman’s signature service, a private Residents’ Club, and an array of curated experiences that go beyond the conventional—think equestrian pursuits, wellness sanctuaries, and immersive cultural engagements. Allegedly, there will be a racquet club, multiple pools, and a kids’ club, too.
Aman Residences Across the World
With the unveiling of Amansamar in Saudi Arabia, Aman reaffirms its dominance in a sector that’s swiftly redefining the notion of luxury living. But this is no isolated endeavour. The debut branded residences in Wadi Safar join an expanding constellation of Aman homes across the globe.
Besides Saudi Arabia, with upcoming developments slated for Beverly Hills, Miami Beach, Dubai, Maldives, and Bangkok, Aman’s residential vision signals a shift in the evolving taste of luxury travellers. As more hospitality groups enter the space, each with their interpretation of design, wellness, and service, branded residences are increasingly shaping the upper end of the global property market.
