When it comes to Formula One racing, brands just cannot seem to have enough. All you need to do is check out all the brands slapped across the cars as well as the drivers' uniforms. And Jack Daniel's whisky was not one to be left behind. Actually, it went a step ahead and actually rolled out special whiskeys to celebrate the F1 linkage in collaboration with McLaren. These Jack Daniel's whiskeys linked to Formula One have evolved over time. In fact, few F1 partnerships have produced as distinctive a run of whiskey bottles as Jack Daniel's and McLaren. The multi-year partnership began in 2023 with a limited-edition Tennessee Whiskey created for selected Formula 1 markets. It continued with further McLaren releases, including a new 2024 edition and subsequent bottles for the 2025 and 2026 seasons. The collaboration reached a more ambitious level in 2026 with the introduction of Halo MK1, a highly limited release inspired by the halo of a Formula 1 car. Here is the list: Jack Daniel's x McLaren 2023 Edition, Jack Daniel's x McLaren F1 2024 Edition, McLaren Formula 1 Team 2025 Edition, McLaren Mastercard F1 Team 2026 Edition and Halo MK1 Tennessee Whiskey. Availability varies by market, particularly for the earlier limited editions.
The first special-edition whiskey bottle arrived for the 2023 Formula 1 season, marking the beginning of Jack Daniel's multi-year partnership with McLaren. The collaboration brought together Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and McLaren’s Formula 1 identity in a limited-edition bottle released in selected markets. The Jack Daniel's x McLaren 2023 Edition was made available in select Formula 1 race markets worldwide, giving fans a first collectible bottle from the partnership.
The collaboration returned for the F1 2024 season with another limited-edition bottle. Jack Daniel's gave the packaging a fresh McLaren treatment, including a papaya twist on the iconic Old No. 7 logo and dynamic striping designed to celebrate the new racing season. The whiskey itself remained Jack Daniel’s classic Tennessee Whiskey, made from an 80% corn, 8% rye and 12% malted barley grain bill and bottled at 40% ABV. The Jack Daniel’s x McLaren 2024 Edition whiskey bottle was released in Formula 1 race markets around the world and selected U.S. states, with 1L bottles offered in selected U.S. markets and both 1L and 700ml formats in international F1 race cities.
The 2025 edition continued the McLaren partnership with another limited-edition presentation of Jack Daniel’s Old No. 7. It also introduced a small but notable change to the series: the whiskey was bottled at 43% ABV, or 86 proof, compared with the 40% ABV used for the 2023 and 2024 editions. The Jack Daniel’s McLaren Formula 1 Team 2025 Edition whiskey bottle carries the McLaren Formula 1 Team branding and 'McL X JD 2025 Edition' designation, continuing the collectible sequence established with the first two releases.
For 2026, the partnership moved into a new chapter with a Jack Daniel's Tennessee Whiskey release carrying the McLaren Mastercard F1 Team branding. The Jack Daniel’s x McLaren Mastercard F1 Team 2026 Edition whiskey sits alongside the Halo MK1 whiskey as one of the collaboration's 2026 releases, but the two bottles have distinctly different positioning. The regular 2026 McLaren edition continues the formula established by the earlier seasonal bottles: Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey presented in a limited McLaren-themed package for Formula 1 fans and collectors.
Then comes the Jack Daniel's Halo MK1 Tennessee whiskey, the most premium and limited release in Jack Daniel's history. Created with the McLaren Mastercard Formula 1 Team, its design takes inspiration from an F1 car’s halo structure, with alloy metal, micro-suede and carbon-fibre detailing echoing McLaren's racing world. Inside is specially crafted Tennessee Whiskey, bottled at 58.7% ABV. Jack Daniel's whiskey tasting notes point to sweet maple, fruit and toasted oak on the nose, followed by caramel, chocolate, pipe tobacco and baking spice on the palate, with barrel spice and brown sugar candy on the finish.
The evolution of this whiskey series is striking. What began with a special-edition Jack Daniel's whiskey bottle marking the beginning of the partnership with McLaren, has developed into a growing collector series, with Halo MK1 whiskey pushing the collaboration into distinctly more premium territory.
