Jacob & Co. is known for watches that are designed to impress and they rarely go unnoticed. The Jacob & Co. Shri Ramchandra Limited Edition watch follows this trend. Inspired by Lord Ram, Lord Hanuman, and the Ayodhya Ram Temple, this elaborate timepiece brings together Indian religious symbolism and the Swiss watchmaker's signature mechanical theatrics. Think miniature sculptures, a rotating Earth and a flying tourbillon, all packed into one rather extraordinary watch. And with only three pieces made worldwide, it is an exceptionally rare creation.
The Jacob & Co. Shri Ramchandra watch is priced at ₹4.20 crore in India and is available via Ethos Watch Boutiques. It comes in a 45.5mm case crafted from 18-karat rose gold, paired with a blue alligator leather strap. The sapphire crystal construction gives an almost uninterrupted view of the intricate display, making the watch's elaborate details impossible to miss.
The centrepiece is a miniature representation of the Ayodhya Ram Temple, accompanied by handcrafted figurines of Lord Ram and Lord Hanuman. Lord Ram sits at the six o'clock position, while Lord Hanuman appears at nine o'clock. Between them, a blue lacquered Earth rotates once every 60 seconds, doubling as the seconds display.
There is more happening above. A one-minute flying tourbillon occupies the 12 o'clock position, while an orange fire opal dial displays the hours and minutes. An orange Jacob-cut cubic zirconia represents the Sun, and the blue base features a mandala pattern. It is less a conventional watch dial and more a miniature world built around the Ramayana.
Underneath all that artistry is Jacob & Co.'s hand-wound JCAM42 calibre. Made up of 295 components, the movement delivers a 48-hour power reserve and drives the rotating Earth and flying tourbillon. Even the caseback gets a personal touch, with a custom plate engraved with 'Jai Shri Ram'.
The Shri Ramchandra watch is a fascinating example of how far contemporary watchmaking can go when mechanics meet storytelling. It is extravagant, deeply detailed, and unmistakably Jacob & Co. a timepiece.
