Franck Muller’s New Limited-Edition Watch Pays Tribute to Ram Lalla

Franck Muller has introduced the Vanguard “Ram Lalla” Limited Edition in collaboration with Kapoor Watch Co., bringing together Swiss watchmaking and a tribute to one of India’s most revered deities. Created especially for the Indian market, the timepiece pays homage to Lord Ram in his childhood form, worshipped at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. Limited to 108 individually numbered pieces worldwide, the watch draws on the spiritual significance of the number 108 in Hindu tradition.

The timepiece was unveiled at the Franck Muller boutique in Delhi in the presence of sitarist, composer and music producer Rishab Rikhiram Sharma, Erol Baliyan, CEO of Franck Muller Middle East, Africa and India, and Raunaq Kapoor and Pratiek Kapoor, Directors of Kapoor Watch Co.

At the heart of the creation is a detailed dial depicting Ram Lalla. The intricate appliqué brings the figure to life through carefully executed laser work, with each dial requiring approximately 30 hours of processing.

The numerals are individually hand-applied and hand-painted by skilled artisans, adding depth and dimension to the composition. The result is a timepiece that combines the visual identity of the Vanguard collection with a devotional subject.

The watch is housed in Franck Muller’s signature three-dimensional, dual-curved case, which bends along both its length and width. Crafted from a solid block of 18-carat rose gold, the case measures 41 mm in width and 49.95 mm in length. Its sculpted form extends to the dial and appliqué, creating a continuous design that follows the contours of the wrist.

Attention to detail extends to the strap as well. Integrated into the case using two concealed screws it follows the watch’s curved silhouette. Made from a combination of rubber and grape-based vegan leather, the strap features carefully finished edge stitching, while the side inserts are colour-matched to create a cohesive look.

Powered by a Swiss automatic mechanical movement, the Vanguard “Ram Lalla” Limited Edition reflects Franck Muller’s approach to combining technical expertise with distinctive design. From the rose gold case to the intricate dial work, each element contributes to a watch that carries both a strong visual identity and a cultural reference.

With only 108 pieces available worldwide, the edition brings a distinctly Indian narrative to the Swiss watchmaker’s collection. The watch places the image of Ram Lalla at the centre of a contemporary timepiece, translating its inspiration into the language of fine watchmaking.
