Audemars Piguet, TAG Heuer, H. Moser To Parmigiani, Here Are 5 Best Chronograph Watches Nominated at GPHG 2026

A chronograph has much to account for, when it comes to watchmaking. It has to be a precision instrument, showcase mechanical ingenuity or be inventive in design. The GPHG 2026 nominations bring all three together, with watchmakers finding new ways to reinterpret one of watchmaking's most recognisable complications. So, from Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo RD#5, TAG Heuer Monaco Evergraph, H. Moser & Cie. In the hands of the finest watchmakers, a chronograph can do much more than just measure elapsed time. It becomes an opportunity to experiment with mechanical architecture, unconventional displays and intricate complications. And that is seen in the list of chronograph watches nominated at GPHG 2026. It brings together some fascinating interpretations of the function, from the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, the reimagined TAG Heuer Monaco, the flyback creation H. Moser & Cie, Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Chronographe Mysterieux to Rexhep Rexhepi Chronograph Flyback. Here are 5 chronograph watch nominees at GPHG 2026 worth a closer look.

5 Best Chronograph Watches Nominated at GPHG 2026

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Jumbo RD#5

Audemars Piguet celebrates its 150th anniversary with a rather ambitious Royal Oak. The RD#5 combines a flying tourbillon with a flyback chronograph inside a 39mm titanium case featuring bulk metallic glass components. Powering the watch is the new Calibre 8100, developed over five years. Limited to 150 pieces, it also introduces an innovative push-piece mechanism and an instantaneous jumping-minute counter.

TAG Heuer Monaco Evergraph

The iconic square Monaco gets a technical makeover with the Evergraph. Housed in a 40mm Grade 5 titanium case, the watch introduces the automatic Calibre TH80-00, featuring a compliant chronograph mechanism. Instead of conventional springs and levers, it uses flexible bistable components to operate the chronograph. The movement beats at 5Hz and offers approximately 70 hours of power reserve.

H. Moser & Cie. Endeavour Flyback Chronograph Dual Time Date

H. Moser & Cie. brings together three useful complications in one understated design: a flyback chronograph, a second time zone and a date display. Its turquoise fume dial does away with conventional chronograph sub-dials, keeping the layout remarkably clean. The 42mm stainless steel watch is powered by the hand-wound HMC 730 calibre, which delivers a 72-hour power reserve.

Parmigiani Fleurier Tonda PF Chronographe Mysterieux

Parmigiani Fleurier takes a rather mysterious approach to the chronograph. At rest, the Tonda PF looks like a traditional three-hand watch, with no visible chronograph counters. Press the monopusher at 7:30, however, and three rhodium-plated hands emerge to measure elapsed time. Press it again to stop and once more to make the complication disappear. The 40mm watch houses the automatic PF053 calibre with a 60-hour power reserve.

Rexhep Rexhepi Chronograph Flyback

Independent watchmaker Rexhep Rexhepi makes its first entry into flyback chronograph territory with the RRCHF. Its 38.8mm platinum case houses a hand-wound movement with a 72-hour power reserve and an instantaneous jumping-minute counter. The storm-blue Grand Feu enamel dial, smoked sapphire counters and extensively hand-finished movement showcases traditional watchmaking at its best.

It is safe to say that the chronograph watches nominees at GPHG 2026 show that measuring elapsed time leaves plenty of room for invention. Whether it will be Audemars Piguet, TAG Heuer, H. Moser, Parmigiani or some other watch, the winner will be announced at the GPHG awards ceremony in Geneva on November 7, 2026. Stay tuned.
