Actor Tamannaah Bhatia has stepped into fine jewellery retail with the launch of Tamannaah Fine Jewellery, expanding her role beyond cinema into entrepreneurship as founder and creative force. With the opening of its flagship store, The Apartment, in Juhu, Mumbai, she brings that vision into a physical setting shaped by how she herself wears jewellery, as part of everyday dressing rather than something reserved for rare occasions.
Built around the philosophy “Beyond the Occasion,” the contemporary fine jewellery label positions jewellery as something meant for daily wear. Designed for comfort, movement, and personal expression, the pieces reflect how modern women live and dress today. At the launch, the actor and entrepreneur joined Robb Report India for an intimate conversation. We caught up with her for Triple Take with RR.
Robb Report India (RRI): Is there one piece of jewellery you never step out without?
Tamannaah Bhatia: It has to be my power pinky. I love pinky rings, and I am almost always wearing hoops as well. Those two are constants for me.
RRI: Beyond its visual appeal, what does fine jewellery represent for you?
Tamannaah: It has to make you feel comfortable and instantly put together. There are moments when you want to feel ready without doing anything more, and my fine jewellery gives me that feeling.
RRI: Are there specific gemstones you are particularly drawn to?
Tamannaah: Emeralds. They work beautifully with both Indian and Western clothing. I also really like cat’s eye. Because I love bold gold and tend to wear a lot of it, cat’s eye helps balance the look.
RRI: When choosing jewellery, do you gravitate towards bold statements or quieter, timeless pieces?
Tamannaah: It depends on the day. Jewellery should let you express how you are feeling, whether that means doing more or keeping it minimal.
RRI: Is there a jewellery trend that stands out for you right now?
Tamannaah: Stacking. I do not even know if it should be called a trend. It allows you to adjust how much you wear depending on your mood, and that should be timeless.
RRI: Is there a piece in your collection that carries deep personal or emotional significance?
Tamannaah: My grandmother’s kangans. They hold a lot of emotional value for me. That is also what led me to think about creating modern heirlooms through Tamannaah Fine Jewellery.
RRI: What kind of jewellery do you see yourself investing in over the long term?
Tamannaah: Jewellery that brings comfort and adds value to your life. You invest in it because it can outlive you and be passed on.
RRI: When you think of luxury, what matters most to you: comfort, craftsmanship, or confidence?
Tamannaah: For me, fine jewellery definitely begins with comfort. If it does not feel good to wear, it loses its purpose.
RRI: Is there a piece from the archives you would want in your jewellery closet today?
Tamannaah: I am not someone who looks back too much. I am more focused on creating what comes next and how Indian fine jewellery can be worn in a modern, everyday way.
RRI: Finally, what does luxury mean to you today?
Tamannaah: Comfort, value, and style.
