Rihanna’s recent trip to India has been making waves on the internet, and how! As the pop icon was in Mumbai for the exclusive India launch of her beauty brand Fenty Beauty Ki Haveli, her tribute to the Indian craftsmanship in the form of the jewellery that she wore has left the gram buzzing. Now, Rihanna has worn Indian jewellery before. In 2024, at the Los Angeles launch of Fenty Hair in June, she paired pieces from both Manish Malhotra and Sabyasachi. This year, when she landed in the city, she returned to both houses again.

For the launch event, she wore a custom Mugler creation by Miguel Castro Freitas from the Autumn/Winter 2026 collection: a chartreuse fluid crepe cascade dress fused with a sculptural leather mermaid skirt, anchored by an uncut diamond-encrusted haathphool by Manish Malhotra. For the after-party, she switched into a custom Alaïa dress and wore the same haathphool again, this time against black.

The Pieces, in Detail

The Manish Malhotra haathphool is the house's signature hand harness, crafted in white gold and set with uncut diamonds, with a floral motif characteristic of the MM High Jewellery line, which launched in 2022. The haathphool is a traditional Indian jewellery form worn historically at weddings, bridging the bracelet and the ring. Polki diamonds and rose cuts are the defining materials of the line.

The Sabyasachi pieces were more layered. Rihanna wore the Assam Bracelet, crafted in 18k gold with tourmaline, emerald, ruby, spinel, sapphire, garnet, iolite, kyanite, turquoise, coral, and brilliant cut EF VVS VS diamonds, alongside a bracelet from the Bengal Broadway Byzantine collection in gold with multi-coloured gemstones and diamonds, layered with rings from the Bengal Royale collection in 18k gold with sapphire, aquamarine and brilliant cut EF VVS VS diamonds.
