Since its debut in 1972, the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak has become an icon of modern watch design. Its octagonal bezel, articulated bracelet and meticulous hand-finishing established a distinctive visual language that remains instantly recognisable more than five decades later. Designed by Gérald Genta, who was trained as a jeweller and goldsmith, the Royal Oak has always carried a natural connection to the world of adornment and now Audemars Piguet explores the same same affinity. With the Royal Oak Joaillerie collection, Audemars Piguet lifts the icon's signature codes beyond the dial and into the realm of high jewellery. Octagonal forms, bracelet links and distinctive finishes are revisioned as cuffs, necklaces, chokers and earrings with each piece conceived to stand entirely on its own.

At the heart of the collection is the Royal Oak bracelet. The maison has played with proportion, surface and construction, creating pieces that feel both substantial and fluid. Sculpted links catch the light, while the bracelet's distinctive rhythm lends every design a graphic quality. The result sits in between jewel and collectible making it precise in construction and expressive in movement on the body.

The precise construction itself has become decoration here. Links, geometry, texture and proportion carry much of the visual impact, proving that jewellery need not be defined by gemstones alone, just as watches are no longer judged solely by their complications.

Three distinct lines shape the collection, each drawing inspiration from the landscape of the Vallée de Joux, the Swiss Jura home of Audemars Piguet. Frosted Gold brings a softer luminosity to the Royal Oak’s angular vocabulary. Crafted in 18-carat gold, its finely textured surfaces catch and diffuse the light, giving the architectural links a subtle, glowing radiance.

Risoud Eclipse and Dream of Joux on the other hand are richly coloured. Designs combine blackened titanium with diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, topaz, tourmalines and other coloured gemstones, which arrive as sparkles of colour against the bracelet's darker, structured form, softening its industrial look. The stones become part of its geometry, uniting the precision of watchmaking and the emotion of high jewellery.

The crossover is hardly accidental as since the late 19th century, Audemars Piguet has pursued an exchnage between watchmaking and jewellery, from pendant, brooch and ring watches created with jewellers such as Tiffany, Cartier, Oscar Heyman and Bvlgari to emblematic pieces like the 1929 "Tutti Frutti" timepiece. The creation of an in-house jewellery workshop in the 1980s inspired ever more expressive designs, from the Baroque cuff watch to the Millenary Précieuse and Haute Joaillerie collections.

Rooted in Le Brassus, in the Vallée de Joux, since 1875, the maison brings more than 150 years of technical precision and craftsmanship to the jeweller's bench. Hand-finishing, exacting detail and the interplay of light, long the hallmarks of its watchmaking, are reimagined here through contemporary craftsmanship, uniting two disciplines in a single expression.

Under the leadership of Chief Executive Officer Ilaria Resta, the collection marks a significant expansion of the maison's jewellery offering, while keeping the Royal Oak firmly at the centre of its design language.

Whether a cuff gleaming in frosted gold or a choker set with vivid tourmalines, each creation balances boldness with feminine elegance, a confident new chapter for the Royal Oak.

Part gateway to the past, part glimpse of the future, the Royal Oak Joaillerie collection embodies Audemars Piguet's free spirit. It invites the wearer to see an icon anew which is no longer only a watch to be admired. Born from architecture, finished by hand and set with precious stones, it is the Royal Oak reimagined as fine jewellery and unmistakably Audemars Piguet.
