At Rs 61,50,000 the newly launched MINI Convertible with the exclusive and sporty John Cooper Works is up for grabs and we reckon that’s the one to go for before the limited run runs out.

First up there’s the JCW (John Cooper Works) trim with its unique design features for the grille, the bumpers, side skirts and the door entry sills. Then there’s the piano black exterior trim and wheel arches. To match all of this there are 17-inch JCW black alloys. All of which add to the visual appeal of the MINI’s classic silhouette, and none of which are available in standard trim.

On the inside the JCW pack gets special sports seats, custom black upholstery, JCW trim dashboard and a JCW steering wheel. The focal point in the cockpit is the round high-resolution OLED display, which is called the MINI Interaction Unit and offers the functions of both the instrument cluster as well as the central display. Like all new MINIs the unit uses the new MINI Operating System 9 with a MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant that is voice activated.

You also get the MINI Digital Key, which is essentially a smartphone application that allows you to use it as a car key without a physical key being present. The tech package is rounded off with a head up display and a lovely Harman Kardon music system with surround sound.

The new MINI Convertible JCW Pack is powered by a 1998cc 4-cylinder petrol engine with TwinPower Turbo technology. It produces a peak output of 204 hp at 5,000 – 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 300 Nm at 1,450-4,500 rpm. All of this is transmitted to the wheels via a 7-speed dual clutch sport transmission. The end result is a 0-100kmph sprint in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 240 kmph.

The car is being brought into India as a completely built unit and will be available immediately at MINI showrooms. The car comes with a standard two-year warranty for unlimited kilometres and the 2-year 24x7 Road-Side Assistance. These benefits are transferrable along with the ownership of the car. Service inclusive plan starts from 3 years / 40,000 km and package extension is available up to 10 years / 1,00,000 km. An option to extend warranty benefits from third year of ownership and extendable up to maximum ten years, is also available.
