The Italian supercar manufacturer does things in style - and there’s an entire department dedicated to making these fiery Lambos look as spiffy as possible. This year, Lamborghini’s Centro Stile design centre celebrates two decades in the business. Those of us who remember Lamborghini’s first-ever few-off, the Reventón, released twenty years ago by the Centro Stile, have vivid images of its heavily stylised body and jaw-dropping performance specs.
Exactly two decades later, Lamborghini drops yet another few-off, a hybrid, christening it the Fenomeno. Aptly named, coming to think of it, as only 29 models of this car have been made, all of which have already been sold to customers.
All we know for now is that the hybrid Lamborghini Fenomeno boasts the most powerful V12 engine ever built by the brand, coupled with an impressive electric motor. The result is a thumping power delivery of 1065 hp, which sits under the highly aerodynamic, futuristic body of the Fenomeno.
For the first time, Lamborghini has incorporated tech features like a 6D sensor and CCM-R Plus carbon ceramic brakes, designed for a thrilling and controlled experience for the driver. First unveiled at the last edition of Monterey Car Week, the Fenomeno joins the ranks of some iconic Lamborghini limited editions like the Elemento, Veneno, Centenario, and Countach.
The Fenomeno gets a monocoque made in carbon fibre and a nose designed in Forged Composite, a material that the Italian carmaker has been using since its 2007 debut of the Reventon. Agility is enhanced by the forged rims, while the custom Bridgestone tyres are all about the grip, coupled with a highly specialised suspension system. Thus, it promises a 0-100 kmph sprint in a mind-boggling 2.4 seconds, and hits the 200 kmph mark at 6.7 seconds, attaining a top speed of 350 kmph.
The new Automobili Lamborghini logo, which went viral on social media when unveiled in 2024, makes its debut with this car.
As the legendary Centro Stile design arm of the carmaker celebrates 20 years, we’re left with design cues on the Fenomeno that render it delightfully photogenic - the hexagonal lines on the chaise, the futuristic lights, the iconic Y design, and the new door design.
We could go on and on, but we shall leave it at that, awaiting the next spiffy ‘few-off’ from Lamborghini.
