BYD has confirmed that the luxury marque BYD Denza Z9 GT will make its India debut on November 13, 2026. The Z9 GT is expected to be among the first two models introduced, alongside the Denza D9 luxury MPV. The car has also been teased ahead of the brand's Indian debut.
The official BYD Denza Z9 GT price has not yet been announced. However, according to a report by Autocar India, the electric shooting brake could be priced between ₹1.2 crore and ₹1.5 crore (ex-showroom). The final price is expected to be revealed at the BYD Denza Z9 GT debut on November 13, 2026.
The international-specification electric BYD Denza Z9 GT driving range is up to 600km on the WLTP cycle. The car packs a 122.5kWh battery and a triple-motor all-wheel-drive setup. One motor sits at the front, while two power the rear wheels. Together, they produce a staggering 1,156hp, allowing the car to sprint from 0 to 100kph in a claimed 2.7 seconds. Its top speed is rated at 270kph.
The car also supports BYD's ultra-fast Flash Charging technology, with charging power of up to 1,500kW. Under compatible conditions, the battery can charge from 10 to 97 per cent in approximately nine minutes. These are international specifications; India-specific figures and charging compatibility are yet to be confirmed.
The Z9 GT's rear-wheel-steering system enables a crab-walk function, allowing the car to move diagonally, while Compass Turn 360° lets it rotate almost on the spot. These features could make a car of its size easier to manoeuvre in tighter spaces.
Inside, the five-seater gets a multi-screen dashboard, digital exterior mirror displays, a panoramic glass roof and an augmented-reality head-up display. Comfort and technology features include electrically adjustable seats with heating, ventilation and massage functions and a 20-speaker Devialet sound system.
With the Z9 GT, BYD is bringing an unusual proposition to India's luxury EV market: the performance of a supercar, the practicality of a shooting brake and technology that goes well beyond a conventional electric grand tourer. So far, at least on paper, the Denza Z9 GT has made a compelling case for being one of the most intriguing electric-car arrivals of 2026.
