The Koenigsegg Jesko Absolut sits at the top of encyCARpedia's current ranking with a claimed 310-mph (499-km/h) top speed. Its 5.0-litre twin-turbo V8 produces 1,600bhp, and the car's streamlined bodywork was engineered specifically with high-speed performance in mind. There's one important footnote: the 310-mph figure has not been recorded in a real-world top-speed, meaning the Absolut currently holds the biggest number on paper rather than the outright verified record.
Just behind it is the Yangwang U9 Xtreme, and this one has the numbers to back itself up. The electric hypercar reached 308 mph (496 km/h) on a German runway in September 2025, according to Carwow, making it the fastest production car to have officially recorded that speed. With four electric motors producing nearly 3,000bhp, it is also a rather convincing argument for the future of electric performance.
The Chiron Super Sport remains one of the defining cars of the modern speed race, with encyCARpedia listing a top speed of 304 mph (489 km/h). "The sheer rate of acceleration that the Tuatara was producing all the way through 295 mph really told us that this car is not even close to reaching its ceiling. All the data and imagery has given us a clear picture that the limiting factor was not the car, but the fact that we ran out of runway," North America Founder and CEO Jerod Shelby said.
