The iconic Zénith chandelier takes centre stage as Baccarat unveils its flagship in Delhi—where crystal brilliance meets India’s rich cultural rhythm in a luminous celebration of heritage and artistry.
It was not just the opening of a boutique, it was the unveiling of a spectacle. Suspended in full glory at the heart of Baccarat’s new flagship in Delhi, an awe-inspiring 84-light Zénith chandelier, rendered in clear and red crystal, cast its majestic glow across The Chanakya. A masterpiece of craftsmanship and theatre, the chandelier announced the French maison’s arrival with timeless grandeur.
This radiant centrepiece is more than ornamental; it is a symbol of Baccarat’s 260-year-old legacy of art de vivre—one that marries heritage with innovation. Known globally for its savoir-faire and imperial allure, Baccarat chose to make its Indian statement through light and legacy, with the chandelier embodying both
“Expanding our presence in the region allows us to connect more closely with our Indian clientele. The flagship will be an immersion into Baccarat’s art de vivre, delivering a harmonious and memorable experience for our guests,” says Laurence Nicolas, CEO of Baccarat.
The boutique reflects the maison’s artistic spirit. From its dazzling chandeliers and crystalware to its barware and home décor, the space offers a sensorial journey into refinement. Yet, it is the 84-light Zénith, blazing with elegance, that truly captures the spirit of this moment: Baccarat’s luminous new chapter in India.

This celebration of light continues within the boutique itself. An intense and vibrant red dominates the space—a signature shade of the maison, achieved through the fusion of clear crystal and 24-carat gold at precisely 540 degrees Celsius. Here, light becomes a key player in the scenography, amplified by the interplay of reflections between chandeliers, mirrors, and lacquered panels. The result is an immersive, luminous experience that magnifies the radiance of Baccarat crystal, blurring the line between tradition and modernity.

“I am delighted to collaborate with Baccarat as it deepens its roots in India. Embodying a legacy of exquisite craftsmanship, Baccarat aligns with India’s love of artistry, the art of celebration, and the joy of living,” says Mandeep Singh, director, Lux Abode, Baccarat’s partner in India.
This flagship marks a milestone for Baccarat in India, setting the stage for an exciting new chapter. With a second boutique opening this summer on the capital’s MG Road, the maison continues its journey in the country, elevating every moment with its timeless artistry and contemporary vision.
The upcoming new space will be ideal for hosting intimate events such as private dinners, creative collaborations, curated collection showcases, and artist encounters. The aim is to ensure that the Baccarat art of living meets the sophisticated expectations of the Indian market.
India’s love for grandeur and symbolism aligns seamlessly with Baccarat’s world. From bespoke chandeliers tailored to Indian homes to curated gifting collections that honour cultural traditions, the maison’s creations reflect a refined blend of French art de vivre and Indian heritage.
Looking ahead, Baccarat plans to collaborate with Indian artists and designers to reinterpret its signature pieces through a local lens.
After all, Baccarat’s long-standing bond with India dates back to the 19th century, when it opened its retail branch in Bombay in 1886.
Over the years, the maison has enchanted Indian royalty with prestigious commissions from the maharajas of Kapurthala, Bikaner, Indore, and Baroda --drawn to the bold elegance of its crystal creation. Their palaces glittered with Baccarat crystal services, furnishings, decorative pieces, and glassware.
The fascination was mutual. Indian culture inspired iconic pieces like the Ferrières furniture collection and the majestic Elephant Liquor Cabinet, presented at the 1878 Paris World Fair.
Renowned for its craftsmanship, the maison continues to inspire aesthetes and connoisseurs; inviting them to experience beauty, refinement and timeless wonder.
It continues to enchant India, one masterpiece at a time.
