Some whisky bottles are made to be enjoyed. Others are made to be remembered. And some are made to be put on a table and admired for hours for the colour of the spirit and the beauty of the bottle. The Dalmore's rarest releases sit there, very much on the top. Here is the list of 5 Rare Dalmore whisky bottles including the Dalmore Luminary No. 3 2025 Edition, Dalmore Luminary No.2 2024 Edition, Dalmore Luminary No.1 2022 Edition, Dalmore 45 Year Old and Dalmore 40 Year Old.
These rare Dalmore whisky bottles combine decades of maturation with extraordinary cask programmes, tiny production runs and, in the case of its Luminary series, the spirit maker creates sculptures that could easily belong in a design gallery. For collectors, that makes The Dalmore's Rare and Prestige portfolio particularly interesting. These 5 Dalmore whisky bottles show just how far the Highland distillery can take the idea of luxury whisky.
At 52 years old, Luminary No.3 The Rare is the oldest bottle in this selection, and its scarcity is almost surreal. The Dalmore produced just two complete sets, with the release created alongside V&A Dundee and architect Ben Dobbin of Foster + Partners. The whisky was matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks before being finished across an extraordinary combination of Calvados, Port, Pedro Ximenez and Chateauneuf-du-Pape casks. It is bottled at 40.3% ABV.

Only three decanters of this 49-year-old single malt whisky were created. Designed in collaboration with Melodie Leung of Zaha Hadid Architects, the release combines rare cask maturation with a sculptural presentation. The whisky was finished in Port Colheita, Apostoles Sherry, and Bourbon casks before being completed in a 1951 virgin-oak hybrid cask.

The first Luminary Rare is limited to just three bottles, created with architect Kengo Kuma. Its 48-year-old single malt was matured in American oak ex-Bourbon barrels and influenced by Matusalem and Apostle Sherry casks and vintage Port pipes, before being married in Scottish Tay and Japanese oak.

The Dalmore 45 Year Old offers a more conventional route into the brand's upper echelon. The 45-year-old single malt moves through ex-Bourbon, Cabernet Sauvignon red-wine barriques, Tawny Port pipes, and Colheita Port pipes, creating the layered maturation style for which the distillery is known. The official UK site lists it at £19,995 and 40% ABV.

The Dalmore 40 Year Old rounds out the selection with another serious age statement. It combines American white oak ex-Bourbon maturation with 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso Sherry casks and Graham's Port Colheita casks. The Dalmore currently lists it at £12,000, bottled at 42% ABV.

The appeal of these whisky bottles is not simply their age. The Luminary releases turn the spirit into collectible design, while the 45 and 40 Year Old expressions demonstrate what the Dalmore can do when decades of maturation meet ambitious cask selection.
