Isha Ambani’s handbag collection showcases some of the rarest luxury pieces in the world, from a $2 million Hermès Sac Bijou Birkin in 18-karat white gold and diamonds to a hyper-realistic Subodh Gupta mango sculpture. Her appearances at Paris Couture Week, the Met Gala and high-profile launches highlight fashion as art, heritage and extreme exclusivity.
Isha Ambani carries some of the rarest, most expensive bags in the world, and each appearance tends to be documented and dissected within hours. The 34-year-old co-founder and director of Reliance Retail Ventures and founder of Tira Beauty has worn pieces from Hermès's most exclusive collections to a custom art object by one of India's most significant contemporary sculptors. Scroll down your way through five of the rarest bags she has carried.
Isha attended the Rahul Mishra Fall Winter 2026 Haute Couture show at Paris Couture Week, seated front row alongside Cardi B, and carried what is widely regarded as one of the rarest bags in existence: the Hermès Sac Bijou Birkin. Part of the house's Haute Bijouterie Collection, released in 2012 and designed by Pierre Hardy, then creative director of Hermès jewellery and footwear, the bag is crafted entirely from 18-karat solid white gold and hand-paved with 3,025 brilliant-cut diamonds totalling 111.09 carats. Only three exist in the world. According to Privé Porter and Sotheby's, it is valued at approximately $2 million (approx. Rs. 17 crore).
At the 2026 Met Gala in New York, themed Costume Institute: Fashion Is Art, Isha arrived in a custom Gaurav Gupta sari inspired by Raja Ravi Varma's painting Padmini, and carried an accessory that stopped fashion editors and art critics alike on the staircase: what appeared, at first glance, to be a single mango resting inside a crochet bag. It was in fact a hyper-realistic steel sculpture from the Aam Aadmi series by New Delhi-based artist Subodh Gupta, a body of work he first developed approximately 20 years ago, built on the interplay between the humble mango and the phrase aam aadmi, meaning the common man. The sculpture is valued at approximately $100,000 (approx. Rs. 84 lakh).
At an event in 2024, Isha carried a custom Hermès Mini Kelly rendered in crocodile leather and diamonds, personalised with the names of her twins, Aadiya and Krishna, born in November 2022. The bag is set with nine rows of ascending round-cut diamonds that culminate in larger drop-shaped stones at its clasp, and is valued at approximately $450,000 (approx. Rs. 3.78 crore). The Hermès Kelly, originally called the Sac à dépêches, was renamed after Grace Kelly in 1956, when a photograph of the Princess of Monaco using the bag to shield her pregnancy from photographers appeared on the cover of Life magazine, cementing its status as one of fashion's most enduring symbols of discretion and desirability.
At the 2023 Met Gala, themed Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty, Isha carried the Chanel Doll bag, a quilted, doll-shaped minaudière that had, by then, become one of the most instantly recognisable novelty pieces to come out of the house in recent years. The bag retails at approximately Rs. 24 lakh.
In 2024, Isha hosted the launch of Tira Beauty at Jio World Plaza in Mumbai, dressed in a custom lavender couture ensemble by Giorgio Armani and carrying the Judith Leiber Just For You Bow, a silver hard-shell minaudière hand-beaded entirely with European crystals in a bow silhouette, measuring 3.5 by 6.5 inches and made in Italy. It retails at $5,995 (approx. Rs 5 lakh) on the Judith Leiber website. Judith Leiber, who founded her New York label in 1963, is widely credited with establishing the crystal minaudière as a serious collectible, and her pieces continue to be held in the permanent design archives of museums around the world.
