Ducati marks its centenary by teaming with Swiss brand Cuisine Barista to launch the Barista M3 1926 Limited Edition Carbon Fiber espresso machine, priced at USD 2,599 and limited to 1,926 units. Featuring a Thermo-Booster system that reaches brewing temperature in seven seconds and a 19-bar pump with PID control, it targets coffee enthusiasts and Ducati loyalists alike.
If you thought Ducati only made motorcycles, think again. To celebrate its 100 years, the Italian marque has officially stepped into the world of coffee with Barista M3 1926 Limited Edition Carbon Fiber. The coffee machine was built in collaboration with Swiss espresso manufacturer Cuisine Barista, and is limited to only 1,926 units — a nod to its founding year. Priced at USD 2,599 (approximately Rs 2.4 lakh), the first batch, which is to be delivered in September this year, is already sold out.
Now, before you write it off as a vanity project with a Ducati hallmark on the front, here is what actually makes it stand out from everything else on the market.
Standard capsule machines take 20 seconds or more to reach brewing temperature. The Barista M3 1926 runs a proprietary Thermo-Booster heating system with a 250 per cent larger heating surface than conventional capsule machines, reaching full brewing temperature in seven seconds from a cold start. It heats only during brewing — not on standby — which means every cup is pulled from a freshly reached, stable temperature.
Pump pressure goes up to 19 bar — well above the nine bar standard for espresso extraction. An integrated PID controller holds brewing temperature stable throughout extraction, adjustable between 70°C and 99°C. Strength is selectable across three extraction modes — light, standard, and strong. PID technology is standard in commercial and specialty coffee equipment. It is not standard in capsule machines.
The Barista M3 1926 froths milk directly inside the included Ducati cup using induction technology — no separate jug, no external carafe, no additional equipment. Cuisine Barista holds this as a world first for any espresso machine, capsule or otherwise. A traditional steam wand is also fitted for manual microfoam, with an independently controlled temperature setting for hot water, teas, and Americanos.
The front and rear panels are hand-laid in genuine twill-weave carbon fibre — three precision-laid layers of 1.5mm composite, built with two 12K structural cores beneath a 3K outer skin. The same construction is used on Ducati's race bikes at Borgo Panigale. Every other surface is seamless stainless steel with a PVD coating. It is the only capsule espresso machine in the world to use genuine carbon fibre as a primary structural material. It weighs 12.3 kg and is hand-assembled from the first screw to the final polish.
The production number directly references Ducati's founding year, making this a numbered centenary edition rather than a standard limited run. The first batch for September 2026 delivery is sold out. A second batch will be open for sale from October 2026. The machine is compatible with Nespresso-style capsules, runs 12 preset drink recipes, carries a 1.5 litre removable water tank, holds 25 used capsules, and connects to the Barista by Ducati app for descaling alerts, maintenance support, and beverage tracking.
