5 Luxury Light Installations by Indian Brands Perfect for This Summer

These Indian studios are making the strongest case for luxury lighting as the most considered investment in a home.

This feature spotlights five luxury light installations by Indian studios that elevate summer interiors through craft-driven design. From Klove Studio’s underwater-inspired AQUA handblown glass chandeliers to Scarlet Splendour’s 24k gold Luce Naga wall light, each piece balances sculptural presence with nuanced illumination, transforming heat-dulled rooms into cool, atmospheric spaces.

Lights have always done more for a room than any piece of furniture or art. In summer, particularly when heat flattens interiors, and the quality of ambient light brings out the difference between a space that feels alive and one that simply doesn’t — the right installation is worth every single rupee spent. Below is a list of five luxury light installations by Indian studios, all working at the intersection of craft and design.

AQUA Collection by Klove Studio, New Delhi

AQUA, is built entirely around the underwater world.

Founded in New Delhi by Prateek Jain and Gautam Seth, Klove Studio has spent over a decade building one of the most internationally respected handblown glass lighting practices in India. Their installations can be seen at the Mumbai International Airport, Harvey Nichols, and the Grand Hyatt, and the studio has won multiple Elle Decor International Design Awards. Their most recent collection, AQUA, is built entirely around the underwater world — sculptural pieces in handblown glass that reference marine elements: rippling lotus leaves, glistening pebbles, swaying seaweed, and blooming corals. The centrepiece is a chandelier that cascades like a suspended sea vine. Each piece is handblown by Indian artisans, meaning no two are identical. The cool, translucent quality of the glass is particularly well-suited to interiors that need to feel lighter and quieter in the warmer months.

Nine Bulb Wall Light, Luce Naga Collection by Scarlet Splendour, Kolkata

The Nine Bulb Wall Light is designed by Matteo Cibic.

Founded in 2014 by siblings Ashish Bajoria and Suman Kanodia in Kolkata, Scarlet Splendour launched its debut collection at Spazio Rossana Orlandi at Milan Design Week 2015 and has since collaborated with designers including Matteo Cibic, Nika Zupanc, Karim Rashid, and Marcantonio. The Nine Bulb Wall Light from their Luce Naga collection — designed by Matteo Cibic — is the standout from their lighting portfolio. Custom-made at their Kolkata atelier, nine handblown glass globes are mounted on a ceramic body finished in 24k gold, creating a configuration large enough to function as an installation rather than a conventional wall light. The 24k gold finish catches summer light differently at every hour of the day, shifting from warm and amber in the evening to more architectural in the afternoon.

Price: On request; available through Scarlet Splendour directly and internationally via Do Shop and 1stDibs.

Bukhara Chaand Lamp by Anantaya, Jaipur

The Bukhara Chaand Lamp is made in banana paper, metal, and bamboo.

Founded in 1997 by designer Ayush Kasliwal and architect Geetanjali Kasliwal in Jaipur, Anantaya carries the UNESCO Seal of Excellence, the EDIDA Designer of the Year Award, and the Lexus Design Award, among others. Ayush Kasliwal, a graduate of the National Institute of Design in Ahmedabad, works from the premise that objects are messages in physical form. The Bukhara Chaand Lamp, made in banana paper, metal, and bamboo, is one of their most considered lighting pieces. The materials are organic and tactile, the form lunar and restrained, and the light it produces is warm and diffused rather than direct. In summer, when the instinct is to soften interiors rather than fill them with additional heat, the Chaand Lamp earns its place precisely because it does not announce itself.

Price: INR 24,850; available through Anantaya's studio in Jaipur and select stockists, including Ikiru.

Scape Wall Light by Stem Design, Noida

The Scape Wall Light is available in cast brass, aluminium, and darkened brass.

Founded by Aman Bhayana and Sugandhi Mehrotra in Noida, Stem Design won the Elle Decor EDIDA Best Lighting Designer award in 2023, was named among Dwell's Best New Designers of 2023, and has been shortlisted for the Lexus Design Award India. Every piece is handcrafted in small batches, with the studio working directly with skilled artisans at every stage of production. The Scape Wall Light — available in cast brass, aluminium, and darkened brass — has an undulating surface texture designed to evoke a landscape seen from above. As light passes over the surface, the hand-sculpted detail comes to life, reflecting and shifting with the environment. The brass version develops a natural patina with use. Dimensions are 160mm wide, 120mm high, and 90mm deep; weight is 2kg for the brass version.

Price: INR 76,700 approximately (EUR 425 / USD 921); available through their website, The House of Things, and Galerie Philia internationally.

Burnt Brass Plus One Small Wall Lamp by Paul Matter, Mumbai

Burnt Brass Plus One Small Wall Lamp is the most architecturally rigorous piece on this list.

Mumbai-based Paul Matter works almost exclusively in brass and metal, producing lighting pieces that sit closer to sculptural objects than conventional fixtures. Their Burnt Brass Plus One Small Wall Lamp is the most architecturally rigorous piece on this list. The burnt brass finish is achieved through a controlled oxidisation process, producing a tone that reads differently depending on the quality of light around it — warm and amber in the evening, more muted and structural in daylight. Unlike most lighting pieces, which degrade in character over time, the burnt brass develops in depth and presence as it ages. Each piece is handcrafted in small batches. It is the quietest piece on this list, and for exactly that reason, the most enduring.

Price: Approximately INR 1,44,000 (USD 1,707); available through Galerie Philia, Geneva, and international stockists/
