The Spa at Four Seasons Mumbai spans two floors, and the recently reimagined interiors lend to an overall sense of tranquillity right in the heart of Mumbai.

It’s true that Mumbai never sleeps. With it comes an endless chase—ambition, perfection, money, passion, and a lifestyle that’s always on-the-go. So, what’s the easiest way to get a breather? Check into a spa. Take a step back to rejuvenate, relax, and recharge. Even if it’s momentary, it’s important. And The Spa, in its brand-new avatar, at the Four Seasons hotel in Worli, is just the place for you to check out—especially if you are running short on time to drive or fly to a wellness retreat, and the only time you have to spare is in-between meetings! I sign up for a 60-minute Myrrh treatment, a Thai-inspired therapy which involves using pressure and kneading techniques for a full-body release.
Passage to Peace
I am welcomed with warm tea and nuts (I specifically ask for the latter). The registration formalities happen in no-time, and I am assigned a therapist, PC Hirati. She’s from Mizoram and has been with Four Seasons for the last two years. In my first gesture, I make it clear that I am on a tight schedule. She is unfazed (I gather she would’ve had many clients with a similar request in a city like Mumbai). I am guided to the therapy room. Bathed in natural light with soft neutral tones, the renovated interiors have been designed by LTW Designworks. I admit the ambience calms your nerves quite instantaneously. I choose my preferred oil from a selection of three (The Spa uses botanical-rich oils from Ras Luxury Oils) and get to changing.
Every treatment here starts with a grounding ritual of the Kansa foot massage, a centuries-old Indian practice that calms the nervous system. Apparently, it also prepares the body to receive. I feel at ease. Hirati leads me to the spa bed and as she starts the massage, I know instantly that she has figured her way to untie those awful knots in my back and shoulder. She is gentle and puts just the right pressure to ease the pain. I do not easily doze, but after the first few minutes, and Hirati's thoughtful kneading—starting from my legs up to my lower back and then to my shoulder—I find myself relaxing. I even nap—that, for me, is the ultimate proof of a great therapist! The treatment ends well in time, and I am ready for my next set of meetings. More relaxed, recharged, and without the gnawing shoulder knots.
Therapies at Four Seasons Mumbai
The Spa at the Four Seasons Mumbai also offers two signature experiences: the Rejuvenating Serenity Massage, using a bespoke blend of Serenity Oil; and the 24K Gold Radiance Facial, which infuses the skin with gold, Hyaluronic acid, and potent vitamins for an effervescent glow. One can also try massages like the Noir (for easing muscle strain and enhancing flexibility) or the Neroli, which is slower, more rhythmic, and promises to be meditative.
RR Verdict
If you’re putting up at the Four Seasons Mumbai, or in SoBo and need a breather, then a visit to The Spa is highly recommended. However, as is the case with most spas across the city, the real differentiator comes with the therapist. And mine was good!
