Earlier this month in Geneva, at the Watches and Wonders 2026, Maserati and Swiss luxury timepiece maker Bianchet, unveiled the UltraFino Maserati to the world. The special collaboration was to celebrate a shared philosophy that values passion for beauty, never giving in to compromises, mechanical rigour and artisan tradition. All expressed through balance and precision represented in 100 numbered exclusive watches that also pay homage to a century of brand Maserati represented by the Trident, which first appeared on the Tipo 26 in 1926.
The convergence of Maserati and Bianchet is the natural, inevitable union of two philosophies that have continued on a parallel trajectory for a long time, but essentially espousing the same ideal of achieving the perfect balance between form and function. The UltraFino Maserati is the result of that convergence.
"With Bianchet, we share a concept: creating objects where iconic design, elegance and authentic performance co-exist in a perfect balance. UltraFino Maserati embodies this harmony: a distinctive aesthetic, based on our iconic heritage and our sporting DNA, transformed into a sophisticated form of elegance that speaks the language of our unmistakable Trident logo, 100 years after its first appearance on one of our cars," said Cristiano Fiorio, Maserati Chief Marketing Officer and Bottega Fuoriserie General Manager.
Founded in Bologna in 1914 and now headquartered for over 80 years in Modena, Maserati translates racing passion into cars that embody performance, comfort and typically Italian style. Bianchet – rooted in Neuchâtel and with its manufacturing base in La Chaux-de-Fonds, the cradle of Swiss haute horlogerie – has embraced a similar and equally rigorous vision since its foundation. While the Trident brings together extreme performance and refined elegance in the ultimate expression of the Italian automobile, Bianchet’s own approach is governed not only by engineering ambition but also by explicit aesthetics built on the principles of the Golden Ratio.
“Bianchet and Maserati are built on the same foundation: the certainty that engineering at its highest level is inseparable from beauty. UltraFino Maserati is not a watch inspired by a car. It is the meeting point of two objects that speak the same language, and the expression of two Maisons that have never accepted any compromise in terms of performance and elegance,” said Rodolfo Festa Bianchet, Founder and CEO of Bianchet.
The limited edition UltraFino Maserati – Flying Tourbillon watch draws inspiration from the incredible Maserati MCPURA supercar that is built in Modena and was first unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2025. Powered by a 630-hp twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre Nettuno V6 and built around a carbon-fibre monocoque, the Maserati MCPURA can go from 0-100kmph in under 2.9 seconds. Thanks to a its lightweight construction and meticulous hand-finishing at the Viale Ciro Menotti plant, Maserati MCPURA presents the distillation of 100 years of Italian racing heritage and performance. It is the expression of engineering as a form of art.
It is from the birdcage design wheel architecture of the Maserati supercar that the UltraFino Maserati takes its visual language for the open-worked skeleton dial. The collaboration and the presentation of twin souls into one object is further seen in the watch’s AI Aqua Rainbow finish, which debuted on the MCPURA and belongs to Maserati’s Fuoriserie Collezione Futura programme.
It also runs as a signature accent along the rubber seam of the case, creating the same prismatic depth on the wrist that the car achieves at road speed.
The grade 5 titanium bridges and main plate, the high-density carbon case and bracelet, all mirror the torsional stiffness of MCPURA's carbon fibre chassis, while the flying tourbillon cage – open, visible, suspended – evokes the beating heart of the Nettuno engine. While the MCPURA relies on its carbon-fibre chassis to ensure high levels of torsional rigidity whilst absorbing the demands of the road, the UltraFino Maserati addresses the equivalent challenge of shock in mechanical watchmaking. Dedicated shock-absorbing solutions have been integrated at both the balance wheel and structural levels, enabling the movement to withstand forces of 5,000 G, an exceptional specification that draws a direct parallel with MCPURA’s suspension engineering and electronic traction management.
At the core of the exquisite timepiece is the Bianchet UT01 calibre, a timepiece that is entirely finished by hand and offers the very pinnacle of craftsmanship. Sand-blasted, satin-brushed and polished, with hand-bevelling on every bridge, on the main plate and on the tourbillon cage, the UT01 calibre represents a series of very challenging original engineering decisions, made on a profile that is just 3.85 mm thick. The suspended mainspring barrel eliminates the traditional ratchet wheel, recovering vertical space while delivering a 60-hour power reserve. A bespoke winding and time-setting architecture reduces friction and refines energy transfer throughout the gear train. The result is a movement of 225 components and 29 jewels, finished entirely by hand, within a total case height of 9.9 mm.
The case is constructed in high-density carbon fibre with vulcanised rubber, and the hand-finished crown is protected by integrated carbon crown-guards. Both the bezel and case-back are fitted with glare-proof sapphire crystal. Water resistance is also guaranteed up to 5 ATM. Two straps have been imagined for UltraFino Maserati: an integrated high-density carbon-fibre bracelet, and a natural vulcanised rubber strap with a titanium folding clasp. The timepiece weighs 36g without the strap, with every detail reflecting the rigour that defines this work of haute horlogerie.
