In a world of fleeting trends, Raghavendra Rathore has stood for evergreen finesse. Born to a royal legacy in Jodhpur, Rajasthan, he pursued fashion design at global institutions such as Parsons School of Design in New York, and, along the way, developed a knack for translating his craft into a cultural movement. “Luxury is the sound of silence stitched into cloth; the way a well-cut jacket holds a soft rustle of dignity in a noisy world. In this quiet, I found the bandhgala — sleeping beneath the dust of history, and revived it not as fashion, but as a way of being,” he shares.
Over time, Rathore’s work has expanded beyond this iconic Jodhpuri suit to cover architecture, jewellery, and textiles. But in all his work, sophistication has remained a defining trait. “India’s idea of luxury was never loud either. It lingered in the scent of sandalwood filling a haveli, the warmth of hand-spun khadi under a monsoon sky.” It is this very charm that has won his appreciation for select global brands, which celebrate craft as not a commodity but a rebellion against the forgettable. “And for those of us resurrecting stories through thread and tradition, Robb Report India becomes a mirror. It doesn’t just showcase luxury; it archives it, offering context to the rare and the timeless,” he shares.
Introducing the first advisory board for Robb Report India, the RR Circle brings together leading voices across luxury to guide, curate, and define the future of experiences in India.
