Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Confirmed As 2026 Formula 1 Season Finale

Formula 1 has confirmed that the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will go ahead as scheduled from December 3 to 6, 2026, bringing the Formula 1 season to a close at Yas Marina Circuit. The confirmation settles recent uncertainty around the race, which had faced questions over whether changes to the calendar could affect its December date.

Formula 1 President and CEO Stefano Domenicali said the calendar remains unchanged and that preparations for the season finale are on track.

Yas Marina To Host Season Finale

The 2026 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix will take place at Yas Marina Circuit from Thursday, December 3, to Sunday, December 6. Abu Dhabi retains its traditional position as the final round of the Formula 1 calendar.

The confirmation comes after uncertainty earlier in the year over the Gulf races. In July, Domenicali had said that the Qatar and Abu Dhabi rounds remained on the schedule, while Formula 1 monitored the situation in the region. At the time, a final decision on whether changes would be required was expected by September.

With the latest confirmation, the Abu Dhabi weekend can proceed according to the original schedule.

Preparations Underway For December

The announcement also allows fans travelling to Abu Dhabi to proceed with their plans for the race weekend. Bookings for 2026 Grand Prix packages on Yas Island have already opened, with packages combining race access with stays at participating hotels.

The event will also feature the Yasalam After-Race Concerts. Zara Larsson, Lewis Capaldi and Imagine Dragons have been confirmed for performances during the 2026 Grand Prix weekend, with Imagine Dragons scheduled to perform on Saturday, December 5.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has been the season-ending race in recent Formula 1 calendars, and the 2026 edition will once again bring the championship to Yas Marina Circuit. For fans planning to attend, the confirmation provides certainty over the dates, venue and its place as the final race of the season.
