All too often, the motoring media tends to overlook the significance of collaborations and partnerships between automobile brands and non-automotive ones in favour of the products – the cars and motorcycles. The idea of luxury, however, goes beyond just the product. It is in the lifestyle proposition that a brand offers. Some offer speed and sportiness, others offer craftsmanship, while others are super cool. The only common thread is that they all offer the good life. Here are six collaborations from 2025 that really stood out.
The two grand masters announced a partnership this October that brought together the world of motoring and music. The collaboration resulted in a unique one-off Bentley Continental Flying Spur Speed as well as a striking limited edition piano. While the luxury limo was finished in Arctic White on the outside and Piano Black on the inside, the pianos were finished either in Ultra White or in Ultra Black. The choice of a monochrome colour palette by both brands also reflect the choice of colours favoured by consumers of both these iconic brands. The collaboration however extends beyond design, with both brands sharing expertise in woodworking and veneering, following recent visits to one another’s factories. This exchange of knowledge highlights how each applies technology and craftsmanship to create pieces designed to last for generations – whether in the concert hall or on the open road.
The collaboration between Mercedes-AMG and Adidas in September this year was all about exploring the idea of pushing the limits of sport and endurance. The partnership was announced at Nardo, Italy where the groundbreaking AMG GT XX broke an astonishing set of 25 world records for battery electric vehicles.
To celebrate the world record attempt by Mercedes-AMG, the brands jointly launched a special sports bag made from the same bio-leather that was used to create the seats of the AMG GT XX. Additionally, the brands launched six limited edition sport shoes. Available in a striking black and red colorway, the collection includes the race-ready Adizero Adios Pro 4, track-ready Adizero Ambition, Adizero Avanti and Adizero Prime SP4 alongside the boundary-breaking Adizero Prime X 3 Strung and award-winning Adizero Evo SL. The collaboration between Mercedes-AMG and adidas extends across multiple platforms and a variety of touchpoints in different sports – with motorsport and its athletes forming a central component.
This Italian master of creating grand touring cars tied up with Italian design house Acqua di Parma to launch a special edition Art of Travel collection. The Acqua di Parma x Maserati collection expresses a shared vision of The Art of Travel, designed to bring a touch of elegance to life on the road. The bespoke collection includes an Andiamo Car Diffuser with a Luce de Colonia refill, a 12ml Colonia Eau de Cologne, an Art of Travel coffret presented in Acqua di Parma’s iconic hat box, a Passepartout Leather Charm in Acqua di Parma’s signature yellow and leather driving gloves in Maserati’s nappa blue.
The Acqua di Parma x Maserati collection reflects the two Houses’ dedication to quality and heritage – expressed through a design that is discreet yet distinctive. The Acqua di Parma x Maserati Art of Travel coffret – produced in just 100 pieces – was sold exclusively at Acqua di Parma boutiques in Milan, Rome, Saint-Tropez, and Paris. The Acqua di Parma x Maserati Andiamo Car Diffuser was available through Maserati showrooms and online, while a limited number of Car Diffusers were offered at the abovementioned Acqua di Parma boutiques and e-commerce platforms.
Automobili Lamborghini and Orlebar Brown launched a vibrant collection that celebrates the bold spirit of both brands. Inspired by the power of the Revuelto, the audacity of the Countach, and the chromatic flair of Miami Beach, the collection fuses high-performance heritage with contemporary style. The beach collection comprises shirts, shorts, swim shorts, and accessories in Italian linen, silk, and towelling. Angular silhouettes are featured, with precision tailoring and engineering finesse represented in fine jacquard and embroidery across the pieces.
The palette is pure South Beach eye-candy with colours straight from Lamborghini’s most eye-popping custom shades, filtered through the sun-drenched optimism of Miami Beach: bright Blu Cepheus and Verde Selvans and balanced with more classic Blu Okeanus and Bianco colour across the collection. Highlights from the collection include bright blue and green swim shorts with daring hexagonal prints; silk resort shirts; a towelling jacquard short and shirt set; rashguards, and a newly designed set of matching beach bags and towels.
Following the MINI STRIP in 2021 and then the MINI Recharged by Paul Smith in 2022, the two British icons came together again in 2025 to create the MINI Paul Smith Edition. The special edition is available for both internal combustion engine powered as well as electric powered versions of the MINI Cooper 3-door, 5-door, and Convertible.
The Paul Smith editions feature exclusive new exterior colours and unique details to bring out a modern interpretation of the classic British Mini from 1959. Regardless of the body colour, which can vary from a clear bluish tinted grey to white and midnight black, the specially created Nottingham Green paintwork – a tribute to Sir Paul's hometown – adds sophisticated accents to the side mirrors, the octagonal radiator grille, the wheel hub covers with Paul Smith lettering, and as the paintwork for one of the two roof variants.
The ‘Signature Stripe’, a central design feature of the British designer, adorns the roof in Nottingham Green at the rear of the driver's side. The alternative version of the roof features elegant stripes in Jet Black in varying thickness, both matte and glossy. The MINI Cooper Convertible Paul Smith Edition is supplied with a black soft top.
All edition vehicles are equipped with 18-inch Night Flash Spoke black aluminium wheels with tinted clear coat in Dark Steel.
