Not happy with how much you spent on your MV Agusta motorcycle? Worry not. The Italian maker of these two-wheeled exotica has just launched a programme that rectifies the oversight and will drain you of some more moolah when you buy your next one.
Jokes aside, Sartoria Meccanica, as MV Agusta is calling its bespoke programme, introduces the concept of mechanical tailoring in the world of exotic motorcycles. The brand itself says that this is the most advanced and exclusive customisation plan it has ever offered.
The process of creating bespoke units for customers starts with a conversation. Between the customer and the designers from MV Agusta. No impersonal AI-powered digital configurators here. What results is a truly unique product customisation experience where every facet of the end product is developed through a direct dialogue-based approach. And the possibilities are endless.
From unique colour, trim and graphic options – the latter inspired by the brand’s own heritage or the customer’s choice, to use of advanced materials like carbonfibre, titanium, billeted aluminium and so on, or special components, the motorcycle is quite literally tailored to the customer’s needs and vision. Even the stitching on the seats is crafted by the finest of artisans that the Italian brand can call upon.
The programme allows for three levels of customisation, which can be applied across the length and breadth of the entire MV Agusta product portfolio. Level 1 is the Sartoria Meccanica Essenziale, which allows customers to create exclusive colour schemes and graphics without bounds. It also allows them to choose the fabric for the saddle.
Level 2 or Sartoria Meccanica Ricercato takes things up a notch. At this point, customers can graphically customise technical components of the motorcycle like the swingarm, frame, or triple clamp. They can also choose the design and colour of the wheels.
At the pinnacle of it all is Sartoria Meccanica Iconico. This allows all the bespoke elements of the previous two levels, but then takes it to the next level by allowing customers to choose their own performance components, one-off technical solutions, a personalised helmet, and even a paddock stand for the motorcycle. The only limitation to this limitless art and bespoke treatment is that it has to be feasible and keep the motorcycle in compliance with legal norms.
“Sartoria Meccanica reflects our commitment to delivering not just exceptional motorcycles but also truly unique experiences tailored to an individual’s passions and vision,” said Luca Martin, CEO, M V Agusta. The launch of the exclusive customization programme follows the complete operationalisation of the brand’s design centre – MV Agusta Centro Stile, at the brand’s historic headquarters in Schiranna.
