The Potten & Pannen - Staněk flagship store in Prague isn’t just any store; it is a one-of-its-kind space that offers the finest dining, household decor, and cooking pieces from premium global brands such as Mauviel, Staub, Rosenthal, Christofle, Lalique, and Villeroy & Boch, including the most extensive Rosenthal meets Versace selection. If your home décor style leans towards luxury and unimaginable exclusivity, this is your dream shopping destination. Everyone’s favourite in Czechia, this one also wears the hat of being one of the world’s most beautiful stores, as titled by the Global Innovation Awards (GIA).
You walk in and you are blown away by the display of aesthetically pleasing and functional home ware. Was it an art gallery or a museum? You might chuckle to yourself. The smart, bespoke, and unique tableware pieces exuded warmth, gorgeousness, and possibilities of limitlessness. No doubt, the prices are fantastic too. The store offers the novelty and uniqueness of crystal, porcelain, and design pieces from Czech creators, all under one space.
One among the many accolades won by the store is the Global Innovation Award (GIA), which is almost the 'Retail Oscar'. With its serious grip on exclusivity, homeware must-haves, and avant-garde tableware and high-end kitchenware, it celebrates cooking, dining, baking, and gifting like no other.
A Design Lover's Paradise
You must stop at Potten & Pannen - Staněk to discover an intimate poetry dialogue between timeless designs and innovative vision. Each item has its place – and a unique story. Some of the featherweight designer glasses from Lalique – an icon of glass craftsmanship, bottles from the Křehký brand, and exclusive pieces designed by Ladislav Sutnar and painters like Jožka Barucha convey luxury and the highest standards of creativity.
The 330-square-meter store features two dedicated floors, and it does not limit itself to Czech traditional designs or global influences, but to a beautiful blend of modernity, innovation, and technology. The renowned Czech designers Vrtiška & Žák, and Maxim Velčovský have left no aspect of cooking untouched.
As you enter, a 15-meter brass table occupies the center space. This central "feasting" showpiece shines in its uniqueness and looks straight from a magazine cover. It is adorned with a limited collection of vases, ornate dining plates, statement-making tea sets, and ever-shining glassware sets. The curved lines of the exquisite installation above the table symbolise a lavish feast. While the centerpiece remains the talk of the town, it was also the showstopper for the GIA jury. “Even today, it attracts a huge footfall,” reveals the store manager.
At the lower level of the store are exclusive kitchen utilities designed by renowned Czech and Slovak designers. While descending to the floor below, don't miss the unusual but admirable 'Lijána' staircase chandelier from the Lasvit studio. 100 pots and pans by kitchenware brand Mauviel suspended from the ceiling in waves make the entire space dance. These playful utensil installations, punctuated with LED lights, beat the decorations of some of the finest art galleries.
Czech Originality Meets Global Luxury
For the uninitiated, Czech cooking ware, glass articles, and kitchen brands are extremely popular in the world and are globally recognised for their craftsmanship, history, and quality. And it is no hidden fact that Bohemia glassware dominates the luxury dining segment in Europe and outside.
Potten & Pannen - Staněk, the specialty shop, not only stands out for its meaningful world of design but also for its cooking workshops. Never done before, it merges a kitchenware store with gourmet academy cooking schools. Owner and entrepreneur Pavel Stanek has been doing this for the last three decades. The labour of his love has earned him 13 stores in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, three e-commerce stores, and two renowned gourmet academy cooking schools.
AtelierPotten & Pannen - Staněk wins all our praises for not only embracing the long-standing, luxurious, and infinitely beautiful legacy of the country but also inviting one to pause, touch, indulge, experience, and see your home and kitchen differently.
