Saudi continues to remove friction from the travel experience with the launch of Package Visa, a fully digital initiative that integrates tourist visa applications directly into curated travel bookings. For travellers weighing their next journey, the announcement signals one more reason the nation is emerging as an increasingly accessible destination for experience-led exploration.
Rolled out through qualified travel and tourism service providers across select international markets, the initiative is designed to collapse what has traditionally been a multi-step process into a single, streamlined journey. Instead of arranging flights, accommodation and a visa as separate tasks, eligible travellers can now book everything through one integrated process, with the option to layer in events, activities and tourism experiences along the way.
The initiative builds on a broader push by Saudi to simplify entry for international visitors. Since the launch of the tourist e-Visa, the nation has steadily added new pathways to visit, including visa on arrival and the Stopover Transit Visa. Together, these measures have underpinned a remarkable rise in tourism, with Saudi welcoming more than 29 million inbound visitors in 2025.
Speaking on the announcement, His Excellency Ahmed Al Khateeb, Saudi Minister of Tourism, noted that Package Visa reflects the country's commitment to making travel more seamless as its tourism sector continues to grow. He added that integrating visa issuance with travel bookings “also strengthens collaboration across the tourism ecosystem and supports Saudi’s position as an increasingly accessible global destination.”
For discerning travellers, this translates to fewer logistical hurdles between the decision to visit and the moment of arrival. And for the region's qualified travel and tourism partners, it opens the door to crafting more elevated, longer-stay itineraries, whether that is a cultural sojourn through Riyadh, a design-forward stay along the Red Sea coast, or an art and heritage trail through AlUla.
Saudi’s Package Visa is currently available only through qualified providers that meet defined service standards, including round-the-clock customer support. As Saudi tourism ambitions accelerate, this latest initiative is another marker of a destination shedding old friction points in favour of a smoother, more connected path—from the first search to touchdown.
