Atlantis The Royal Expands to the Maldives With a 2029 Launch

A dual-island resort is set to redefine luxury hospitality in the Indian Ocean.

Set amidst the crystalline waters of South Male Atoll, Atlantis The Royal, Maldives, is set to open in 2029. Created by Kerzner International in partnership with Assets Group, the resort will rest on the shores of Vaaredhdhoo Faru, accessible by a 10-minute seaplane or a 25-minute speedboat from Malé’s Velana International Airport.

The resort will span 1,368,890 square metres with almost six kilometres of beachfront, offering 493 keys, including 270 hotel rooms and 223 villas and mansions, across the Family Island and Luxury Island. Guests will be able to enjoy two beach clubs, and the 70,000-square-metre Aquaventure waterpark featuring up to 15 signature rides, anchored by the Neptune and Poseidon Towers. Guests will also enjoy 17 culinary venues, including signature Atlantis restaurants such as Ossiano, Gastronomy, and The Royal Tearoom, alongside celebrity-chef restaurants, vibrant beach clubs, and social dining concepts. Luxury retail and event spaces will also be available for large and intimate gatherings. For those who love all things marine, the native marine life will be showcased in the Lost Chambers Aquarium as part of the Atlantis Atlas Project. 

With sustainability as the core of their vision, the resort will focus on energy-efficient systems, water conservation, and coral and seaweed regeneration initiatives. 

Beyond leisure, the resort will host sports academies, entertainment zones, and wellness facilities. Its wellness sanctuary includes a world-class spa with longevity treatments, a botanical alchemy zone, an overwater yoga and breathwork platform, a recovery studio, a beauty salon, and a cutting-edge indoor and outdoor fitness centre.
