The Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève, the leading global awards for contemporary watchmaking, is coming to India as a travelling exhibition hosted by Ethos Limited in Mumbai. Featuring finalist watches across 15 categories, the event highlights innovation and craftsmanship while signalling the growing maturity and international relevance of India’s luxury watch market.

The Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève was established in 2001 and is the world's foremost annual award dedicated to contemporary watchmaking. Organised by the GPHG Foundation in Geneva, the awards are judged by an international jury comprising respected experts, collectors, journalists, and industry leaders across 15 categories. The travelling GPHG Exhibition presents the finalist timepieces, selected from over 1,000 nominated watches, to audiences around the world. Previous host cities have included Singapore, Beijing, Tokyo, and New York. Ethos Limited, India's largest retailer of luxury watches with over 100 boutiques across the country, has been entrusted with hosting the exhibition in Mumbai from September 28 to October 1.

What is this Exhibition About?

The GPHG Exhibition showcases exceptional timepieces across 15 award categories.

The GPHG Exhibition showcases exceptional timepieces; these are finalists across 15 award categories, representing the pinnacle of innovation, craftsmanship, design, and artistic excellence in contemporary horology. For collectors and enthusiasts, it is a rare opportunity to see, in a single room, the watches the industry's own jury has decided matter most this year. The venue for the Mumbai edition has not yet been announced.

But Why Ethos?

Bringing the GPHG Exhibition to India marks a significant milestone for the country's luxury watch industry.

Yashovardhan Saboo, Chairman of Ethos Limited, has served as both a member of the GPHG Academy and, for two years, as a member of the GPHG Jury. That direct involvement in the awards process over several years has placed Ethos in a credible position to host the exhibition in India and gives the Mumbai edition institutional weight. Pranav Saboo, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Ethos Limited, says the exhibition is a reflection of exactly that commitment: "We are thrilled and deeply honoured to bring the GPHG Exhibition to Mumbai. The GPHG represents the pinnacle of contemporary watchmaking, and it is a privilege to give Indian collectors, enthusiasts, and the wider luxury community the opportunity to experience the world's most exceptional timepieces up close. This exhibition is a testament to the growing maturity and global significance of the Indian watch industry, whose collectors continue to demonstrate remarkable passion and appreciation for fine watchmaking."

Bringing the GPHG Exhibition to India marks a significant milestone for the country's luxury watch industry, reflecting the increasing importance of India and its growing community of collectors on the global horological stage. The Indian luxury watch market has expanded consistently over the last five years, driven by a younger, increasingly informed collector base that has moved beyond entry-level Swiss brands into complications, independent manufacturers, and pieces with documented provenance. The exhibition's arrival in Mumbai is a recognition of exactly that shift.
