McGuire Unveils 30-Piece Wildlife-Inspired Ensemble in Collaboration With Designer Bill Bensley

McGuire and Bill Bensley unveil a nature-inspired collection that celebrates Cambodia’s wildlife and rainforest conservation.

McGuire’s latest collaboration with designer Bill Bensley pays tribute to nature via a 30-piece ensemble, inspired by the rare wildlife of Cambodia’s Cardamom Mountains. The collection captures the spirit of the rainforest through sculptural and functional design, and each piece tells a story of the wild. From the strength of elephants and the grace of leopards to the charm of pangolins and sambars, the collection reflects the life and energy of the rainforest. Bensley, known for his bold imagination and commitment to sustainability, transforms these natural inspirations into furniture.

Bensley’s deep connection with the Cardamom Rainforest fuels the narrative behind each design. His travels through Southeast Asia and encounters with conservationists shaped the emotional tone of the collection. “This collection for McGuire is a love letter to the wild,” Bensley says in an issued statement. “Each creature, from the leopard to the pangolin, has its own story to tell. It’s not only about beauty, it’s about awareness and respect for their home.”

The materials used are just as thoughtful. Black and brown petrified wood conveys ancient strength, while crystal white agate mirrors the shimmer of cascading waterfalls in rainforests. Sandblasted oak reveals the grain’s natural beauty, and handwoven rattan, steam-bent by skilled artisans, nods to McGuire’s Californian heritage. The result? A tactile and organic series.

Among the highlights is The Clouded Leopard’s Commode, handcrafted from sandblasted oak with a walnut inlay that forms the face of a jungle cat. The Wild Elephant’s Cocktail Table stands strong on resin-cast feet topped with smooth agate, while The Sambar’s Lounge Chair draws from the graceful antlers of its namesake deer. Each piece balances creative expression with everyday usability.

The collaboration also carries a philanthropic purpose. Proceeds from the collection and related events will support the Shinta Mani Foundation, which works to protect wildlife and empower local communities in Cambodia.

Bensley’s work has long blurred the boundaries between luxury and sustainability, from tented camps in Cambodia to resorts across Asia. His designs celebrate storytelling and craftsmanship, aligning perfectly with McGuire’s philosophy of luxurious design.

Founded in 1948 by John and Elinor McGuire, the brand continues to evolve while staying rooted in craftsmanship and authenticity. The Bill Bensley Collection marks another step in that journey which merges artistry, nature, and purpose.

The collection debuted at High Point Market in October 2025 and is now available through McGuire showrooms nationwide.
