Inside the Palace Sunday Brunch at Raffles Jaipur and Everything We Loved About It

Robb Report India gets an exclusive first look at the Palace Sunday Brunch at Raffles Jaipur and brings you the verdict.

It’s Sunday. You want to step out, indulge in great food, pamper yourself, and take a luxurious breather because you absolutely deserve it after a long week of work, but you are not quite sure what will truly feel special. The Palace Sunday Brunch at Raffles Jaipur might be your answer.

The Space

The Palace Sunday Brunch is hosted at the atrium, Safir.

Begin Sunday with your morning rituals, followed by a calming shower, and then drive straight to the Queen’s palace. The moment you step into Raffles Jaipur, the serenity of the space soothes your mind, while the warmest smiles around make your heart feel at home. Then, walk into Safir for an unhurried brunch experience you’ll wish could last forever.

The stunning atrium, Safir, lined with beautifully preserved palm trees and flooded with soft natural light, creates a dreamy setting, while a live musician gently strumming the guitar and singing soothing melodies sets the perfect tone for the feast ahead.

The Experience

Veuve Clicquot is served bottomless as part of the Palace Brunch experience.

Start with a glass of Veuve Clicquot, served bottomless at your table. Raffles Jaipur is the only place in the city offering this indulgence for a brunch with sides of 100% hydrated bread, aerated cultured butter, smoked tahini, and a fermented garbanzo bean dip. For drinks, you can also pick from their thoughtfully put together wine or spirit collection, if that’s what floats your boat. As the crisp notes of champagne awaken your palate, move on to the ala carte menu.

The brains behind this brunch, Chef Jaydeep Patil, Director of Culinary, says, “We call it an experience. We provide a few choices for you, for example, there are some courses that come by default and a few courses that come by order, but it can still be altered to your preferences. Since it is made to order, it can be customised. In luxury terms, most things are made to order, and that is something we emphasise.”

“The menu is orchestrated in a way that you eat certain things in a certain sequence, building a crescendo of eating that takes you to dessert,” he adds.

The brunch menu is full of delightful surprises. Seasonal ingredients and familiar kitchen staples transform into the most indulgent treats. Kickstart with a butternut squash latte; it feels like a warm hug in a bowl. The baingan bharta flatbread is a soft, airy bread layered generously with smoky bharta , topped with burrata and a drizzle of olive oil for the juiciest nibble. Dig into sangre ki tikki , melt-in-the-mouth dimsums, or satiate your chaat cravings with golgappas served right at your table, complete with a variety of flavour-packed paani. Don’t miss the ghee roast and dosai; it makes for a comforting and delicious bite.

Though I chose to go vegetarian with the brunch, the menu has an impressive line-up for non-vegetarians, from a lavish seafood trolley featuring lobster, tiger prawns, and keta caviar, to slow-cooked spring chicken, tandoori specials like lobster nimbu mirch tikka, truffle chicken chops, and plenty more to satisfy every devoted non-veg lover.

You might feel a little guilty looking at the dessert menu, but hey, it’s Sunday, and you deserve it. From gelatos and crepe Maharani prepared table side to puddings prepared using unusual combinations like corn and apricot, every option tempts you to indulge.

The idea is to not rush. The team thoughtfully offers to arrange a chauffeured drive back home so you can enjoy those extra glasses of champagne without worry. If you are staying in, Raffles is just as happy to extend your stay because after a meal this indulgent, they know you have earned that slow nap.

As Patil puts it, “This one is about being lazy, getting up late, and indulging in the mood of having brunch. The entire experience revolves around Sunday laziness. The brunch is a complete combination of the best of Raffles, served in the lazy elegance of a Sunday.”

RR Verdict

This brunch might ruin all other brunches for you, but we feel you deserve to experience a culinary affair like this one.
